[She runs through the course of event in a similar fashion... though perhaps with a much more analytical eye as was her nature. As a result her attempts at trying to figure out the how and why beyond all her actions and his only leave her with more questions than answers. Which is not something a detective likes to deal with and as a result she finds herself a little frustrated at herself. At him. At everything. But mostly at herself. Thankfully fighting Shadows is a good way to release stress and she leads the way for the most part as they head back to meet with the others, pretending to have not seen his relieved smile at her promise to meet him at Aiya.
A promise she isn't sure she should have made.
It would have been so much easier to just drop it and pretend it never happened. Her mind told her that's exactly what she should have done. Whatever had possessed her to allow what had happened to happen in the first place should never be allowed to do so again. Except that wasn't how she actually felt or how it was actually going to go and she knew it. She knew it because she couldn't get the sensation of his lips over hers out of her head nor could she stop turning over the events that lead to it. It was all wrong somehow. It was practically distressing for someone like Naoto who barely understood how friendship worked let alone... this. Whatever this was. Crush? Romance? Friends with benefits? None of that seemed to apply.
But she couldn't just cancel what she had promised despite her usual instincts telling her to do so. The same instincts that had kept her away from people all this time before the Investigation Team. Thus they were instincts she didn't want to kneel to anymore. And so once they met with the others, left the TV world and all went their separate ways home she texted him a time to meet her there tomorrow. Preferably she would've liked to have done it on the same day but it was late and she was tried and confused. She didn't really sleep well that night either. Her brain wouldn't rest.
The next day felt colder than it had been all winter and even bundled in layers the wind still went right through her. She hated the cold... though she hated the warmer weather more in the long run. True to her ways, Naoto arrived right on the dot of their agreed upon time.
Regardless of the results today she had to see this through until the end. Another part of her "occupational disease" as she liked to put it.]
