[Unfortunately his hug has the exact opposite and she nearly has a heart attack. Her body tenses underneath his touch and he's way too close and oh god she's gonna die.

But she doesn't try to squirm away or anything.]

I-It's fine... [She could think of far worse people to be stuck underneath a mistletoe with. Souji would be high on her list of people she wouldn't mind... if not at the top honestly. Since she trusted him so much.]

[Oh gods did he do that right or wrong, she's tensing then again when he thinks about it, Naoto probably didn't have that many hugs from people that were not her grandfather and his secretary and that...makes him....kinda sad.

[Souji's eyes open wide for a second, surprised by the sudden move she makes on him. He's...never seen act this bold around him before. Of course she's acted incredibly brave during the investigation, but this is different. Ever wanting to be the gentleman despite all that happened, it's only when Naoto breaks down that barrier that Souji let's himself go as well.

His thoughts spinning, he lowers his head a little more so that they are level with each other, hands pushing deeper around her waist and lifting her up without really thinking about it. When their lips touch, he feels his entire face flush as if on fire, and has to close his eyes from how blurred his vision becomes.

...but damn, if this doesn't feel good.]

[Naoto isn't sure how long a kiss is suppose to last. It's not like she has any experience or... ... Oh. This is the first time she's ever kissed anyone. Ever. ... N-Not that she cares about anything like a "first kiss" or stupid sentimental things like that!

It feels nice to kiss someone... and be kissed right back but she tries not to think about it. She's barely aware that he's lifted her up until, after a few more moments of this, she hastily breaks the contact. Her first instinct is of course to run the hell away but she can't and that's when she realizes...

[She's not the only one flushing red. For all his bravery, Souji is just as painfully human as the others and while he has kissed others before, never like that...Idly, he touches his lips to confirm what just happened before speaking again.]

[Seeing Souji blush is a rare sight... She's pretty sure he's only ever blushed at Rise when she was being her usual bold self. If memory serves, anyway...]

[He looks up suddenly, taken out of his daze, cheeks still flushing. Even now, she's very...he can't find quite the word for it. He'll just call it 'Naoto-like'.]

W-wait! Naoto. I--[He coughs, and moves closer to her again. Not holding her this time, just leaning to her side, even that small bit of contact feeling strange. If she wants to leave, he won't stop her, but at least she needs to know;]

[Well he succeeds in stopping her dead in her tracks at least. Or at least to destroy her train of thought so she forgets running away was high on her priority list.

[She's not moving. Part of him is surprised, the other is just really glad she doesn't seem to disturbed by what he said, just fluttered. He has a feeling his heart would have fallen if she had left...]

[Teenager hormones are on full overdrive and before he can stop himself, he takes one of her hands to his. Not to stop her from running away, but a feeble attempt to calm her down, even if his own heart is beating a mile a minute.]

[Her heart is beating so loudly in her hearts she's starting to fear he can hear it too. It only gets worse when he grabs her hand and Naoto finds her legs will no longer obey her command to run.]

[Once more, he can't help but stare at her, surprised by her answer. He debates asking her again to make sure she's really sure, but he's almost afraid she'd change her mind, and he really doesn't want that.]

[He can't simply do what they did last time; a repeat is one thing, but he quickly realizes he wants to lower the tension...or maybe up the ante? He's not sure anymore, maybe it's the cold air, or his mischievous streak rearing its head. Regardless, before Naoto has time to react, he grins at her before using their interlocked hand to push her closer, his other arm to grabbing her back then her neck to gently dip her.

Souji has no experience with kissing until now except for what he's read and learned, but that sure isn't stopping him.]

[Her body is tense in anticipation of the contact... but she doesn't expect him to dip her like that. She lets out an embarrassed squeak in surprised then blushes because of it. Jeez, what's he even doing...

She doesn't get much time to think about it though since he's kissing her again. Truthfully it's hard to do much when he's kissing her. Her mind sort of goes blank and she finds herself only able to concentrate on the feel of his lips against hers. ... And that sounds really strange to her but it's true. She lifts her other hand and curls her fingers into the collar of his shirt; keeping him close. Not that she thinks he'll move away right now...

She feels a little self conscious though. She definitely had no experience to speak of so she certainly can't be any good at this... but maybe it didn't matter because he seemed perfectly content to keep kissing her.]

[Always act like you know what you're doing...then get up if you fail. That had always been how Souji saw things, and now as he is unconsciously applying it to a mistletoe kiss--no wait. It really isn't just that anymore, is it? He had asked her a second time. The reality of that suddenly hits him like a ton of bricks. More aware of just what he'd done, Souji's eyes snap open briefly.

Everything seems even more concentrated; the feeling of her fingers against his neck, the touch of her lips and skin against his, and he can't help but think how nice she smells. Heart pounding, blood racing, mind in a daze....why hadn't he realized before?

He wants this moment to last forever, frozen in time, euphoria, and comfort.

Of course he's not so stupid as to believe that would ever happen, so after a short while, Souji finally breaks their contact, gently setting her back up. Cheeks still burning hot he realizes that once again, he's not sure what to do. After facing thousands of battles, he finds himself undone and vulnerable.]
