A picture's worth a thousand words, but what about an action? When you're with someone, or even just so attracted to a person that you've watched them for a while, you are probably tuned in to them more than any random off the street. You can read their body language. You know their moods, what makes them happy or sad or angry, and, hopefully, how to comfort them or cheer them up. Words aren't the only way to do this: an embrace, a soft kiss, or even an offer of a hand could be worth a MILLION words.

THE CHALLENGE: This is a shipping meme, with a hitch. That hitch? The first FIVE comments between both characters must contain no dialogue. Only actions are allowed for communication.

HARD MODE: The first ten comments between both characters must contain no dialogue.

Let's get this started with Souji and Naoto

[Souji spots Naoto as they're both on their way out of school. He doesn't say anything in greeting - as usual - but just gives her a nod and a small smile to see if she wants to walk with him.]

[ Naoto appears to be preoccupied with her phone. She takes a few seconds to notice his presences and glances up, startled.

She takes a moment to recovery and returns the small smile, pocketing her phone. It's not often one gets the chance to walk home from school with Souji. Guy is buys. So she nods to him and proceeds to head toward the school gates. ]

[Odd how he seems to have more to do sometimes than the high school student who works full time as a private investigator.]

[He relaxes a bit at the acknowledgment and comes up alongside Naoto, slowing down just slightly to match her pace. It's cloudy as they walk out into the school courtyard and Souji looks up half-expectantly. He knew it was supposed to rain this afternoon, but the miraculous weather forecasts had still not quite managed to pin down when it was going to start.]

[ It's definitely a mystery she has yet to solve... though judging by the amount of friends he seems to have and how many clubs she's seen him in, she can certainly make some educated guesses why that might be. Not to mention she knows the others in the Investigation Team vie for his attention.

Cloudy but warm. The humid was heavy in the air, making even their summer uniforms uncomfortable. It would definitely rain just from the way the air felt. It might even storm too.

She walks along with him in silence, occasionally glancing at him but then quickly looking away in case he caught her. She carries her school bag at her side and her cell phone beeps from her pocket, but she ignores it. ]

[Souji's no would-be Holmes like his friend, but he's learned to notice subtle things like a person not answering her phone. He can certainly tell when he's being glanced at, and turns to catch Naoto's eye the next time she does it.]

She blushes instantly when she's caught and looks away, staring determinedly at her feet instead. Jeez... Embarrassed, she quickly gets her cell phone out again to fiddle with it in order to distract herself. ]

[Souji wisely keeps his mouth shut instead of observing how cute Naoto gets when she's being shy. His expression says more or less the same thing, but fortunately she's concentrating on her phone right now.]

[He considers being extra-bold and offering his hand for a second, but is almost immediately distracted by the feeling of a rain drop hitting him directly on the nose. He looks up and sees that the rain is probably about to start seriously any minute now, and wordlessly starts rifling around for his umbrella.]

[detects]

[ The rain drops catch her attention too as they're quick to start falling the moment she notices. A rumble of thunder accompanies it too though Naoto notes she hasn't seen lightning yet. She sighs, puts her phone away and quickly attempts to locate hers as well.

.... Shoot. She totally left it at school, didn't she...

Hopefully Souji has his because she will need to share it with him. It's such an awful cliche that it makes her cringe inwardly. ]

[After some fumbling and failed attempts to open it one-handed, Souji has his gray umbrella out and open.]

[He looks over at Naoto and, wordlessly, stands next to her so that the umbrella covers both of them.]

[What can he say? Sometimes clichés exist for good, practical reasons.]

[She looks really embarrassed by this but does not refuse the cover. After all it's starting to rain really hard and it would be foolish to risk getting wet when he has an umbrella for them to share. She still blushes and stares at her feet though, hugging her school bag to her chest instead to prevent it from getting wet too.]

[This is a time when being a head taller than most of your friends comes in handy.]

[...like a head and a half in Naoto's case, honestly. That said, they were both still getting a little wet with the rain really coming down like that.]

[Souji looks around. There's a better way to cover both of them than simply walking next to her, but he'd probably get punched in the chest if he pulled it out of nowhere when people were watching.]

[Fortunately, by this time, they're at the flood plain already, and no one was out playing in the rain aside from one very focused fisherman. With no witnesses around, he casually loops an arm around Naoto's shoulders to center the umbrella better.]

[Well he doesn't get punched but he does get a predictable sputtering flustered reaction. She turns pretty red at the sudden close proximity.

N-No senpai that's okay she'd honestly rather get a little wet instead...!

But she doesn't try to wiggle her way free or anything. At least not yet. She just looks very embarrassed. And it finally forces some words from her.]
