[It wasn't unusual for Leia to want to come over but for some reason Jude was apprehensive this time. Things had been... weird, to say the least. For all Jude's booksmarts he was pretty oblivious as to where the weirdness was coming from. Okay, well... he had some idea. They'd kissed twice--both when one of them was under some weird influence--and ever since he wasn't sure what he was suppose to feel. Leia had started dating someone to boot which threw further confusion into the mix. Maybe it was nothing and he was just overthinking it. He was pretty good at overthinking.

It was probably nothing. The daily struggles living in this unfamiliar world were just making things weird.

Not yet aware that her boyfriend had left and returned to his own world Jude wasn't sure why she suddenly wanted to come over. He'd finished working for the day and as the sun was beginning to set he'd settled on the couch to read. He found is was difficult to concentrate though. He hoped everything was okay.]

[Kissing him had been weird.

Moving on and falling for someone else after the fact was weirder.

Having to tell him about it, she thought, was going to take the cake, but this . . . somehow this made her even more apprehensive. Was he going to get the wrong idea? That she would be so eager to fill this new void in her life that she would rebound and use him?

Jude was her best friend. She couldn't stand the thought of hurting him.

More than anything, she wanted him to be a part of her life, no matter what, and for that, she would have to take this risk.

Leia closed her eyes. She took a deep breath, and she rubbed at her cheeks in front of his door. Her voice was a whisper as she quietly motivated herself.]

Alright. You've made it this far! So, just . . .

[Finally, she knocked on the door.]

[Jude is busy zoning out when Leia finally arrives. The knock on his door startles him from his thoughts. For a split second he forgets who could be there but then remembers. Was he that tired from work...?

He puts the book aside and pulls himself to his feet.

When he opens the door he greets her with a small smile.]

That was fast. [He actually has no idea how long it actually took her to get here. It felt quick though. He steps aside to let her in.]

Is everything okay?

[His smile melts her worries, and Leia wonders where her unease had even come from in the first place. She wastes no time in accepting his invitation, quietly slipping in through the doorway with a smile of her own--

Then she remembers, very quickly.]

Oh. I'm great! Yeah! I just . . . [She deflates, but remains steadfast and determined in keeping the smile on her face.] Well, I wanted to see you.

[He shuts the door behind her. Well, that's not really unusual but it makes him worry anyway. Then again when does he ever not worry?]

You know you can always visit, Leia. I don't mind. [He keeps his door open to all his friends but... her especially. It's comforting to have someone from home in a place like this.]

Do you want anything? I just went shopping so I can make whatever you'd like.

[Food. Food is always an excellent topic to brighten up the mood. She looks at least a little excited at the idea; though whether she meant to or not, she ignores the question.]

I can help! It's been forever since I've had to do kitchen work.

Then we can eat, and . . . um, catch up?
